I know I always say this but...

The time has come for me to do something epicly creative.
I'm not sure what, but I need to get my creative juices flowing as soon as possible. Perhaps I'll take some photos this weekend, or decorate my apartment, or do some design stuff on my computer. My mind is getting incredibly dull these days.

Anyone hiring?

Sometimes I sit at work for hours, thinking of ways that I can quit and find something better and more exciting where I'm not working for a company whose vice president has a stuttering problem and likes to throw random temper tantrums in the office. In reality I know that I need more experience before I can go anywhere else and/or move up in the workplace, but I like to dream about alternate things that I could be doing with my time. They include:

1. Writing a novel
2. Writing/recording an album and traveling the country as a musician
3. Becoming a professional photographer
4. Bartending
5. Psychology
6. Some ridiculously boringly easy and mundane 9 to 5 job where I don't have to do any work but bring in twice as much as the shit amount that I make now
7. Graphic Design.

Right now any one of these seems more appealing than the situation I'm in right now. I work too much, get treated like crap, and never get a day off. I'm smarter than this and I think I deserve better. Anyone hiring?

Recent musical loves...

My musical tastes vary with my mood and recent actions. Recently, I've been a bit melancholy and reminiscent, for a variety of reasons, so I've chosen the following list to share with you. Do with it what you like. The songs aren't in any particular order.
1. Sloop John B - Beach Boys (my boyfriend has been on a huge Beach Boys kick as of late and it's worn off on me. They remind me of my childhood.)
2. Sometime Around Midnight - The Airborne Toxic Event (I'm listening to it right now)
3. Anarchy in the UK - Sex Pistols (perhaps because I'm reading V for Vendetta)
4. Viva la Vida - Coldplay (I plan on buying the album today)
5. Sequestered in Memphis - The Hold Steady (I love the whole album)
6. Love is Noise - The Verve (It's an odd song, but I like it)

I think I need to find more good music. Anyone have any suggestions?

I hate being sick.

I've been sick since Thursday night. It's now Wednesday afternoon and I'm finally starting to feel better, but I'm still a little fatigued and achy. On the bright side, I'm finally out of my old apartment, but on the not-so-bright side, I overexerted myself all weekend and didn't rest, thus the reason I'm still ill today. I can't wait to finally be better.

My new duvet cover...

I'm super excited for this! It looks like the album art from Revolver, only it's on a duvet cover so it's even more awesome. I'm considering buying the matching tapestry for it as well. I've had my current comforter since 9th grade and I've hated it pretty much since I got it, so I figured it was about time for me to purchase a new cover for it. I've been duvet cover shopping in earnest for about a week now and really wasn't finding anything that fit my style until on a whim I went over to UrbanOutfitters.com and found this little piece of perfection. It said the delivery will be in 5-7 days...I can't wait!
I've decided to go with a black and white theme for my bedroom in my new apartment. My furniture is still antique wood and I like it that way, but black and white for the accents is classy without being too boring or too weird. The kitchen is going to be blue and yellow, and the living room will either be brown or purple. I'm not sure yet. The bathroom will still be baby pink and sage green, just like it was in my old place.
I really do love online shopping. It saves me so much time and gas money. I mean, thanks to the internet, I can order a fabtabulous duvet cover from a company whose closest retail store is in King of Prussia right from the comfort of my cubicle over my lunch break. When I've exhausted all of my resources in searching for a discontinued microphone adaptor for my iPod, I can simply log onto ebay, place a bid, and own it a few minutes later. Or if I simply can't find a new CD that I just have to hear, I can purchase it directly from the artist's website for a fraction of the retail cost.
The internet has completely changed my shopping experience. I no longer have to drive from store to store searching for the ideal item. I can do all the searching, pricing, and browsing I need from the comfort of my own desk chair. Don't get me wrong-- there are still times when I love to retail shop. I love thrift stores and vintage shops, and I rarely buy clothing on the internet for the simple reason that I don't trust it to fit properly. But sometimes when I really don't feel like running to some random farout place to get some sort of obscure item, it's much more convenient to buy the thing online.
Hell, I even got my apartment on craigslist. Granted I checked it out in person before I signed the lease, but I did my initial search and price hunt via the internet.
Sometimes I hate computers, but I can't deny the fact that sometimes they are quite simply the most convenient things in the world.

My boyfriend thinks I type too hard.

Here is a basic description of my boyfriend. I won't mention his name for privacy purposes. From here on forward, he shall only be referred to as N. (He chose that handle himself, because N will be the name of James Bond's next boss. He's weird like that.) But anyway, here are some of his basic character traits.

1) He's a dirty oriental. (That is to say, he's half Asian.)
2) He's a good cook.
3) He likes cats.
4) He plays the guitar.
5) He is a horrible prankster.
6) He's too lazy to read my blog, despite my constant nagging.
7) He thinks I type too loudly.
8) He's cheap.
9) He plays video games. A lot.
10) He is, overall, one of the most fundamentally weird individuals I have ever met in my life.

My boyfriend also has a cat. Her name is Miss Kitty. His nickname for her is Missy; my nickname for her is Missy Elizabeth Squirrel. Despite the fact that I feed her, give her attention, and write songs about her, Miss Kitty generally hates me. Here are some of her basic character traits.

1) She's bitchy.
2) She's possessive and jealous.
3) She's very pretty, but has a grossly overinflated opinion of herself.
4) She constantly wants to be at the center of attention.
5) She has "N" wrapped completely around her little paw.

Miss Kitty has a brother who is temporarily staying at my boyfriend's apartment because of his allergies. His name is Simba. Here are some of his basic character traits.

1) He's fat.
2) He's yellow.
3) He's lazy.
4) He has the figure and body mass of a Thanksgiving-sized turkey.

Because of reason number 4, I have given him the nickname Simba Elizabeth Turkey.

Why am I writing all of this, you may ask? Well, mostly because I CAN write derogatory things about my boyfriend and his cats on my blog, since he's too lazy to read it. Basically, I'm just proving a point here. That's all.

When I get bored...

Dress Up Games, Doll Makers and Cartoon Dolls @ The Doll Palace
...I do dumb stuff on the internet. The great thing about the internet is that it is an endless source of amusement. I can always manage to find something odd to do online when I'm bored. Like this.
